Changes to Your Account FAQ

Blue Apron is updating its pricing structure. If your account has been impacted, you have received a communication to the email address registered with your Blue Apron account.


Why is this increase happening now? 

As costs continue to rise, it has become more and more clear that we are not completely immune to what’s happening across our industry as a whole. For this reason, we made the decision to increase our standard recipe price per serving, as well as the price per wine bottle. This price increase allows us to maintain our high bar of quality, value, and service that you have come to expect from us.


While we understand that this may be a difficult adjustment, please know we did not come to this decision lightly. We have to strike a balance to manage our business the best way we can to maintain consumer satisfaction and manage inflationary pressures. 


When will these changes take place?

The changes to our pricing structure will be introduced to all customers on a rolling basis. If you haven’t already, you can expect to receive an email providing further details about how these changes will affect you. The notification will be sent out at least 10 days prior to any updates taking effect on your account.


Where are the new prices in my account?

Prior to your price effective date, please see the table below to view your updated price per serving. After your price effective date, to view your updated price per serving, log in to your account on our website and head to Plan Settings. From here, click ‘Edit’ on the right hand side across from ‘Meals‘ or ‘Wine‘. You should see a pop-up that includes Your Weekly Total, which is made up of your price per serving, fixed number of recipes, and shipping cost. Please note that this is your standard recipe cost per serving and this price does not include any additional charges for customizations, Add-Ons, or extra recipes.


How do I see my new total in my account? 

To view your updated pricing, head to your Upcoming page on our website and locate the next order following the price change effective date indicated in the email you received. Click the receipt icon to the right of the ‘Manage Delivery‘ button to view your total for that order. To view the total in our mobile app, click the ‘Payment‘ button below the scheduled delivery date.


Will this change affect my Wine subscription?

Yes, a $1 increase per wine bottle will be added to our Wine subscriptions. To view your total for a wine order, head to your next scheduled wine order on your Upcoming page. To learn about Blue Apron wine, visit blueapron.com/wine.

What improvements have you made to your product? 

Product innovation and expansion is a priority for us. Over the past 10 years, we’ve expanded our menu from 6 menu options a week to over 50, while also giving you the opportunity to receive two meal kit orders each week. Our menu is larger and more diverse than ever, offering more variety and more ways to tailor meals to you. With this price increase, we can continue to deliver on the high bar of quality, value, and service that you have come to expect from us.
