When an afternoon snack craving hits, creamy avocado dip will pick up your energy and your spirits right away.
Avocado delivers the kind of creamy satisfaction that normally only comes from foods that are a little bit less healthful than this popular, irresistible fruit.
To differentiate our dip from guacamole, we lightened up the texture with some sour cream. A ton of chopped cilantro adds another serving of vegetable–as do your dippers, if you opt for vegetable strips instead of chips–and a little bit of minced pepper keeps everything perky. Pack up a serving and add it to your lunchbox, or keep the ingredients in the work fridge and mash up the dip to order in the office kitchen.

Creamy Avocado Dip
2 ripe avocados
1 jalapeño, minced (use less and be sure to remove seeds if you don’t like spicy things)
1 lime, cut into wedges
1/4 cup sour cream
1 small bunch cilantro, chopped
In a bowl, combine the avocados, jalapeño, cilantro, sour cream (feel free to add more or less), and the juice of as many lime wedges as you’d like; season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve with tortilla chips or veggies.
For even more flavor, try adding some of all of the following: garlic paste, red onion, cumin, fresh corn.
